For Kindle Readers

Amazon Kindle will no longer accept uploads in the mobi format beginning August 2002.

Effective today, July 15, 2022, my site no longer offers mobi.  If you have purchased mobi books from this site, you need to upload them to your Kindle before August 2022.

The preferred choice for uploading to Kindle in the future is epub, which has always been available on my site.

For more information, see my previous blog.

My Creative Surveys

NSFW ALERT!

I create surveys in bdsmlr every Tuesday and Friday.  I also link them to my Twitter accounts.

There are several of you who are longstanding voters, and I enjoy getting to know you through your thoughtful responses.

The surveys are open to anyone 18+.  Twitter only gives me so many characters per post, so I can’t personally invite everyone.  Do not let that deter you from joining the fun.

You are free to adapt the choices to your own kink, and you can vote only the selections or you can add more color about why.

The responses to the July 4th Creative Survey were especially detailed.  And I’ll share that with you–but be warned that it’s a Not Safe For Work link.

As this is an election year/season in the U.S., I’ll say:  Be sure to get your vote counted!

bdsmlr Follow-up

If you have a blog on bdsmlr and you get shady DMs from what look to be bots trolling for money, please remember to send a ticket to the admins.

Here are the steps you should take:

Go to “contact us” and choose “submit a request”

In the subject line type:  “Potential Bot Blog; Please Ban” (or something like that)

Then in the body, provide them with the blog’s name/address, and copy the DM you received.

I’d also request that you add a thank you for their diligence in keeping the site safe from predators.

Several of you have followed this route, and the admins have responded promptly in banning the blog.

I know it’s easy to delete, block and forget.  But if we do this together, we can hopefully cut down on the trolls.

Previously, I asked you to send the bdsmlr admins positive feedback, and you listened!

Here’s one more example:

Dear team, I just want to say thank You for fixing the chat and for giving us kinksters this site where we can have fun and interact with each other. I really appreciate You all. Cheers.

Here’s the reply:

Hi!

We really appreciate this email! We’ve always received mostly complaints and it’s really nice to see something like this. We also appreciate you, our users of BDSMLR.

Please keep supporting the site!

I’m so proud of you all!  Keep up the great work.

Here’s an update to one of my collaborations.  I am working with another established author on a mini-novella series.

The series is about Eli Shaw, a college boy who works at a costume/sex shop to pay off his debt to the owner.  He goes on a journey of sexual discovery and exploration, and learns about his place in the world.

The heat level is off the charts, and the series covers a wide range of kink from homosexuality to femdom to blow-up farm animals… you’re going to love it!

I spoke about the writing process before, and, if anything, it continues to get better.  The sparks fly when we brainstorm.  And even though we are busy with other things, and we always say we can’t get back to it for days… both of us immediately put our creativity in motion and whip out the next section (pun intended, perhaps).

We have whizzed through this process, and book one is already completed, with book two drafted at 25%.  And we haven’t skimped on the details.  Brainstorming, drafting, discussing, editing, and drafting some more have produced an amazing blending of our two styles and perspectives.

I was skeptical in the beginning about how it would be effectuated, but it’s beyond incredible!  I know I sound giddy… just picture me jumping up and down; because, inside, I am.

We can’t wait to share it with you!  Stay tuned for more information.

The Event

Some of you are very good sleuths.  I have provided a few hints about an upcoming Event.  And I’ve received messages from you that you uncovered my secret.

I told you to go to my Kinky Links page and look under Websites B.J. Visits.

Then find the most recent addition and check out that site.

That site takes you to the GWNN Bash 2022.  It’s in Austin, Texas next weekend, July 22-24, 2022.

And yours truly will be a vendor.  Kudos to those of you who did your homework!

If you are in or around the Austin, Texas area, stop by and say hello.  I’d love to meet you.  Then stick around for the awesome classes and demonstrations the Bash will offer.

I will have hard copies of three of my books for sale, too.  So you can get an autographed copy!

If you’re planning to attend, send me a DM in smedia or use my contact form.

Reviews

This week, someone from Twitter told me he read “The Lesson” and loved it.  I asked him to please write a Goodreads review.  And he did.

What’s so special about that to warrant a separate blog post entry?

This someone is not from the United States and does not speak English as a first language.

And he worried whether his review was good enough or made sense.

I’m going to give you the link to his review and challenge you to see if any of them sound like they’re not native speakers.

Let me know what you think.  And a big thank you to that someone!

Did you know that reviews help readers decide whether to buy or not?  If you’ve read one or more of my books, please consider writing a review for me.  And many thanks to all of you who already have.  I appreciate each one.

In lieu of a Q/A this time, I’d like to take the time to extend condolences to L.K. Lynch.  His mother passed this week.  While she had been in failing health, the end always seems to come too soon.

He and I had a wonderful chat about his mom a few days ago.  She was quite the woman–in fact, she was a writer of sorts, too.

Please send some positive vibes to L.K. as he deals with this heavy loss.

Do you have a kinky question you’d like answered?  Use the contact form to submit your question.  All questions will be kept anonymous unless you’d prefer to be named.

Thanks for the great questions and comments!

Happy reading,

~B.J.
