Last week I had to scramble to start another Tumblr account after they deactivated me for accidentally leaving in a link to a bdsmlr post.

This week I want to say thank you to everyone who reblogged my posts and helped get the word out that I had a new account!  It has helped, and I need more.  If you have a Tumblr account, please follow my Tumblr blog and tell your friends!

I’ve heard from some people who thought I had blocked them.  I am grateful for the support and glowing words.  They have helped me reconnect with some important people… and your kindness has warmed my heart.

THANK YOU!  The silver lining in my crappy week is the knowledge that I’m not writing in vain.  You listen.  You care.  And that encourages me to continue!

Question:  Do you get aroused when you write?

B.J.’s Answer:  Snarky response:  It wouldn’t be much of a book if I couldn’t even get its author off!  :p

Serious response:  Yes.  And often.  Before I start to write a new book, I have a general overview of the book along with detailed chapter outlines.  With each chapter I write, I visualize the scenes.  Sometimes just the glimpse can cause me to set my laptop aside.  As I write, I watch the scene unfold, like watching a movie.  Whichever character is talking, I see the scene through that character’s eyes.  The same with movement.

During especially hot scenes, my laptop is set to the side multiple times.  Hey, I’m a girl.  We have multiples!  *wicked grin*

I hope the level of realism and arousal I put into my books translates into satisfied readers.

Sean’s Answer:  I started writing erotica because I didn’t have access to the kind I wanted to read.  So the whole point of writing was my arousal.  Even though the internet is a cornucopia of stroke material, I still write my own.

So the short answer is “yes.”

I find it helpful to use writing as an opportunity to edge–something I really enjoy.  And I know the sex scenes are always hotter when I write while turned on.
