What’re You Doing Next Weekend?

DomCon NOLA is LESS THAN A WEEK away! DM me if you’re going to have me sign a book for you!

Just got my booth assignment, Booth #122. This time when you go, you get FOUR in one (just like the collaboration, “How I Got Here”): ME, Claire, Multiperv, and first-time DomCon attendee sizeerrorprojection!

Thanks for the great feedback from the last blog post!  Here’s what you had to say:

toymax ~ I had to smile when I noticed the color of Your pen – and again when I read Your words about it. I like the Q and A section.  [*grin*  If you liked the Q/A, there’s a follow-up, so be sure to read it, below]

Multiperv ~ Thinking more about your response about Rachel cheating on all her previous partners perhaps it’s not actually that many people. I mean, they are young, so maybe she just mostly dated and then only had a handful of actual semi-serious relatioinships. It actually made me feel a bit better that rubbug also wondered what Rachel and Melanie were or were not wearing on their feet when they had Grant do the foot massage, a bit relieved I’m not the only one who thinks about such things.  [Yes, you don’t have the corner on the foot fetish :p]

I really liked the ‘apostrophe torture’ cartoon. At first I just caught the *fruit’s* one but then, after seing how much it upset the person on the ground, I looked again and saw that the poor apostrophe was misused 3 times, in 3 different ways. I probably would have reacted somewhat similarly, and they would NOT have earned my business unless they were the only option in that town, or maybe owned by immigrants who did not know English well.  [I didn’t see them all at first, either, because the first few pissed me off :D]

Eli 1 Review
Congrats on the 5-star review for Eli 2!  [Thank you!]

Nerts2u ~ I cannot believe you are writing a femdom sci-fi soap opera set in the future. There is absolutely no way I will be able to avoid reading it. You have just described my kryptonite. This feels dangerous.  [Nothing dangerous about it; so FUN and HOT!]

IamHerProperty ~ you probably know how much fun your last survey was, and the replies were fun, too. It was fun to see what we all would do, fight and cheat, to get a prize of: Being soaked in piss. That’s totally perverted, and I am all here for it. Have fun in NOLA, go Spartans.  [The Creative Surveys are so much fun because I get to read how far everyone is willing to go and where the lines are drawn.  Glad you found ‘em!  NOLA will be a blast, and I will do a review of it in the weeks following.  Our saying here is one person says, GO GREEN! and the response is GO WHITE!  When I travel and wear an MSU shirt, strangers will pass and say, GO GREEN!  Of course, I reply, GO WHITE!  :D]

rubbug ~ I always praise you for your amazing writing skills, but I think I sleep on your organizational skills. That’s like a big component for you, and you’re great at planning ahead, too. Didn’t surprise me at all that you proved your editor wrong there.  [Thanks.  To be fair, the planning and organization isn’t considered when you read a book; it’s behind the scenes.  Still, I appreciate the compliment *grin*]

Congrats on the 5 star rating from Sally, definitely deserved.  [“Eli” is such an amazing series.  I heard from a few other people recently that they are looking forward to starting it–means I get to relive it with each feedback!]

Tell me what you think about this post, and see your comments in the next one.  And… GO GREEN!

Second book in the series

I had the honor of beta reading Silk’s second book last month, and he did not disappoint!  If you’re wondering why that name sounds familiar, it’s because Silk has been a long-time voter in the Creative Surveys.

[Creative Surveys and results are every Tuesday and Friday, with the deadline the following Tuesday or Friday.  Open voting to anyone over 18.  We always love newbs.  DM me for more info or check out my bdsmlr blog {NSFW} using #survey or #bjf survey]

“Claimed by the Cougar” is the second installment in the “Girls on Top” series.  It uses the same base character and foundation but shows us a different vignette of another *hot* couple.  There’s also a shoutout to the couple from the first book.

The story builds on the haters, and I expect it will get louder as the series continues.  It’s an interesting foil for the underlying sweet romance.

Great series that’s highly recommended. Read my 5* review.

Trilogy Update

Last time, I asked for some suggestions for a title.  Here’s what you came up with:

(sung to the “Dragnet” theme) is “Dom de dom dom. Dom de dom dom CONNNN!! The Trilogy”.  [If a book could sing its title, this is definitely the winner!]

Maelstrom of Mischief
Maelstrom of Mistressy Mischief
The Perfect Dom Storm
A Weekend of Wicked
When Dommes Collide
Sex and Sensibility
For the Love of Kink, the Ties that Bind.
The Gathering
The Society
Kinksters, Assemble!
Kollection of Kinks
Kink Korral
Dommed but Not Conned
When Dommes Unite
Best (Domme) in Show
Dommes Strut Their Stuff
To Live and Domme in L.A.
Dommes Love L.A.
Dommes in La-la Land
When Dommes Attack
When Dommes Meet
DommeCon: The Trilogy
DommeCon: Where Women are Women and Men are Their Toys
DOMMES DISAPPOINTED!  *Thought they were getting BJ Frazier’s autograph and got Thomas Antonson’s instead!*

Tell me what you think!  I like many of these, and I love how many you came up with!

I was asked:  Are you going to include ‘these are other books it would be helpful to read beforehand’ list before the story starts, or that you’ll provide in your blog?  I’m sure you’re writing it so such advanced knowledge isn’t necessary to enjoy the story but such a list might help your bigger fans to better and adequately prepare so we get the most out of it.  And maybe a list in the start or back of the book of what characters come from which other books so we can recall them better or refer back to them since they’re not as engrained in our memories as they are in yours.

It’s almost like you’re reading my mind, Multiperv!  🙂  Each book in the series will have a rather lengthy author’s note that will list each character in alphabetical order by first name, along with an “appearing courtesy of” with a link to the character’s original book.

You’re also correct that, even if someone hasn’t read all of my books  [*GASP*; such an incomprehensible notion!],  the reader will be able to fully enjoy the trilogy on its own.  The background introduces/reintroduces the characters by book and how they come to find out about DomCon and attend.

COMMENT 2:  And I’m guessing you are tossing in Mistress Cyan and/or Goddess Phoenix and maybe some others gratis to give it some more realism and ‘flavor’.

Mistress Cyan and DomCon absolutely have a gratis sponsorship.  And Mistress Cyan has a few things to say; by me.  Keep in mind that this trilogy has over 40 characters, though, so I don’t need the realism and flavor, because my characters already bring it to the storylines.  🙂

The series continues to basically write itself.  Last time, I said I should be a quarter of the way through Book Two, and I hit that mark.  So excited to share that I am over halfway through Book Two, which means that I am over halfway in the entire series!

There are a couple of things that will sideline the writing for a bit–DomCon, hitting the recording studio with Thomas Antonson to voice “Mistress Managed”, holidays.  Barring any major setbacks, however, I am on pace to complete the draft of the trilogy before the end of the year.

That also means that I hope to publish Book One at the beginning of December!!

I’m so excited to get it in your hands… because I cannot wait for your reactions.  And of course, I’m a feedback whore.  *grin*

The Big Game

Saturday.

7:30 p.m. Eastern.

U-M comes to East Lansing to face the Spartans of MSU.

The season is over for my green boys… but THIS game is still important.

THIS game is the ONLY important game of the season.

That’s why you’re seeing a TON of green posts in bdsmlr.  Thanks to those of you who have been supplying them to me!

[an aside: My irritation grows with that site, because you send me wonderfully GREEN posts with GREEN comments, and I respond in kind.  However, my GREEN doesn’t get posted.  After a lot of complaining and figuring, toymax and I realized that the site removes the codes when I send the post to queue as opposed to reblogging immediately.  To get around it, I go into my queue and edit the post so that it shows in GREEN.  The bad thing about that is it won’t let me tag properly.  But GREEN is more important!]

GO GREEN!  GO WHITE!

And hopefully, it will be a magical weekend.

The last blog post contained a She Said/He Said section on kinky advice.

This issue’s Ask is a follow-up to the previous one.

COMMENT:  I was impressed with your advice to the BDSM newbie, and that you entertained a question that seemed to be about an Mf scene.  I particularly liked your suggestion about letting the sub touch and feel things before they experienced them, as well as telling them before moving them or their limbs somewhere, at least for the first scene.  Great advice.  I still get very skittish when led somewhere blindfolded, though the intellectual part of me knows they probably won’t walk me into a wall or anything.

RESPONSE:  Thank you for the comment because it made me realize that I hadn’t placed the question in context.

The advice that Sean and I gave to the BDSM newbie entering into his first scene with his wife was, as you point out, with a male dominant.  We’ve talked a lot on the blog about how to get your wife/significant other into kink.  And one of Sean’s greatest comments was that if you’re going to discuss *your* kink, you have to also to be open to learning about *her* kink.

In this particular case, the questioner DID listen to his wife and was willing to try a dominant scene as a switch.  The goal was to progress in kink; fulfill her fantasies and then fulfill his.

However, the other point was that, regardless of who is in charge, the rules of BDSM and kink play remain the same.  The advice Sean and I gave can be applied to anyone.

It’s always a good idea to over-explain and incorporate more senses, but especially so with someone who is on the fence about kink in general and a newb to BDSM in particular.

I don’t think that scene has been performed yet but I am looking forward to updating you when it happens.

Do you have a kinky question you’d like answered?  Use the contact form to submit your question.  All questions will be kept anonymous unless you’d prefer to be named.
