Purchasing it from my website gets to you a day ahead of everyone else; plus, more of your dollars go directly to the artist.
It’s the holiday season, and the usual stress is pushing Nolan Drexel to the breaking point. He’s down on his luck and can’t see a way to turn things around, and it’s the fault of everyone else–especially his wife Sloane and daughters.
Sloane doesn’t care about her looks like she did when they got married, and the couple files a tax return more often than they have sex. Nolan blames his daughters most of all–if they had never been born, he would be in better financial shape, and he would still have a sex life.
A week before Christmas, Nolan falls as he enters his house… into a different timeline.
When Nolan comes to, he’s not at home anymore. There are some familiar faces but no one recognizes the Nolan Drexel from 1225 Mistletoe Lane. They know him as a completely different Nolan.
This Nolan isn’t married, doesn’t have kids and has a completely different occupation.
Most importantly, this Nolan has lots of sex.
The real Nolan decides to take advantage of his dream life without regret.
But can one have too much sex?
The only person Nolan can talk to is his best friend Gus Baker. In Nolan’s real life, Gus is a highly skilled mechanical engineer who uses a wheelchair. In the dream, Gus is a degenerate paraplegic with no education and no friends.
He would never have believed it, but Nolan begins to miss the way things were. Before he can return his real life, however, he must learn some things. With each hurdle he navigates, he wonders how many more there are.
Mistletoe Bound is the kinky hallmark of a wonderful life Christmas tale.
“Mistress Managed – Book Two”
is now available as an audiobook!
Book Two of B.J. Frazier’s three-book series about a high-powered lawyer’s trip into her sexual dark side. Jeneca Avery’s role of commanding mistress to the handsome and compelling Keegan is becoming something more than a casual dalliance as she finds less and less interest in playing with her other boy-toys.
Jeneca’s growing fascination with her new sub is echoed by the once-dominant Keegan, who falls under her power as the two slide into a deeper relationship.
They have a lot to learn about each other and, while role-playing can take the edge from less mainstream desires, nothing stays the same forever…
Meanwhile, Jeneca must prevent her Mafia boss client from committing murder.

The Power of Words–AI Doesn’t Have It
Sally Bend recently wrote an amazingly insightful article about why you shouldn’t trust AI. It’s specific to the editing process for
fiction but discusses grammar in general.
Each genre has a way of “talking”, and so do characters. AI, though, applies the same rules to every piece of writing and [at this point] does not have the proper nuances to distinguish subtleties in writing generally nor in dialogue specifically.
Sally also reveals the small-print horrors of using AI technology–the programs could repurpose the works that it “edits”!
The article is very well written, so I won’t try to summarize it. It’s a good read.
Have you had a bad AI experience? Let me know about it!

It’s Time to Get Green!
Spartan Green, that is. They were kind enough to have a bye while I was in DomCon. This week, it’s time to get busy!
See some good green posts? DM them to me.
And GO GREEN!

Here’s what you said after the last blog post.
Traveling Fool ~ Your blog about me is fantastic. Thank you. [You’re most welcome. I enjoyed getting to know you at DomCon L.A., and I hope to see you next year!]
Multiperv ~ The Sugilite Supplement sounds like a really good idea. [Thanks… when you get through Episode 10, you can read it. I think you’ll like the charts]
Congrats on the physical version of the IPPY Awards and it was nice of you to think to get on a video call with Jessie so you could open them together. [I couldn’t open it without him! It was a true collaboration]
I didn’t watch the whole YouTube clip [of the Michigan probate court judge who was removed from the bench], but she looks like a Karen. I’m glad she got removed, hope she gets more than that, and it’s nice to see some lousy or biased judges occasionally lose their position. It should happen more often, like to corrupt under oath liars on the U.S. Supreme Court, for one off the top of my head example. [Every small step is one in the right direction]
I hope, as always, the Spartans prevail this weekend. [Sadly, not, and it was a difficult game to watch. BUT our team is young and talented. I expect good things to come!]
Sally Bend ~“Were you ever, by any chance, a David Lee Roth fan? For some strange reason, this song has been stuck in my head all week. I wonder who might be to blame?” She sent a link to the song “Hot Dog and a Shake”. [*laughing hysterically!* I was a David Lee Roth fan but I’ve never heard of that song; thanks for that, Sally, and I’m ecstatic that you enjoyed Episode 8!]
toymax ~ Thank You for making the D/s supplement. It‘s THE perfect add-on for every fan. I‘m glad I did not start making that spreadsheet, because what can be better than having it done by the author Herself? Not too talk about all the additional information like the „correct“ pronunciations of the names. *grin* [Y’know I don’t like to give things away, but I couldn’t have you go to that trouble when I had been creating it the whole time. So glad you enjoyed it, Max!]
I guess „seeing“ and „feeling“ the award is again a special moment for You and Jessie Spectre. You two deserve it so much. [Yes, and it’s heavy, too! You can see it in proudly displayed in the booth picture… below. Thank you for your kind words!]
Send me your comments, and I’ll put them in the next blog post!

And now, back to our regularly-scheduled program.
When I got home, I received a funny post from toymax about traveling. I had him cut it down to protect the innocent, but I wanted to give you a good laugh first. It reminds me of all the laughing I did with my Booth Boys… our cheeks hurt every day!
Arrival and Booth Boys
This time, I arrived a day early to spend some quality time with my three awesome booth boys on the town in New Orleans! Servicepet, Thomas Antonson and sizeerrorprojection (sep) were must-haves in the booth since Claire could not make it.
Sep arrived a few hours before us and secured the rental car and groceries. The plan was to pick me up and head to our place, drop bags and perishables then hightail it back to the airport for Thomas and servicepet. However, Thomas’ plane came in nearly 45 minutes early, and we saw a wall of traffic on the highway. So, we turned around and grabbed Thomas and servicepet.
Good thing sep is a wonderful schmoozer and was able to get a free upgrade so we could fit all the bags!
Servicepet has a wonderfully laid-back way of poking the bear. The glint in his eye along with his dry delivery makes you want to squeeze his cheeks… and laugh. Seriously, though, servicepet is a great conversationalist. He also rocks latex, dresses and hats! I helped him pick out a new hat. And he held the banner for the DomCon Parade.
Thomas Antonson has been my friend, editor and sound guy for years. He now holds the title of Booth Boy, too. This was his first DomCon, and he was like a kid in the candy store… well, not quite: He didn’t touch or sample. :p He helped direct traffic to the booth, which helped me make sales. He’s already making plans for L.A.!
This was sep’s third time as my booth boy, and he stepped it up! He planned all of our restaurant and jazz places, and he chauffeured the entire weekend. Factor in New Orleans with narrow roads and people barreling into the street against the lights, and potholes, and you can understand why we appreciated that sep was driving! [servicepet very helpfully called out “pothole!” right after everyone readjusted after the effects of driving over one]
Claire’s Shoes Filled by Three
When Thomas wasn’t available to reel people in, sep took over. And when everyone was occupied, servicepet took a stab at it. Then sep was on hand to process orders and align the books for me to sign. It took three booth boys to satisfactorily carry out Claire’s tasks.
I am so grateful to each of them! They gave me the freedom to meet new people, chat with friends, and conduct four interviews. Because I have a bit of a control issue (who, meeee?!), I remained in the booth the entire time. But do not fret; Thomas and sep went to many classes.
The Booth
Despite our plans, we faced many “potholes” this weekend. With intelligence and a calm demeanor, though, we were never negatively impacted. The weekend went by smoothly, hysterically, and all too short-ly.
Setting up the booth was a breeze, and I spent more time *lollygagging* with friends. Take a look at the pictures. You’ll see “Eli” beautifully draped in his Silver Medal from the IPPY Awards. And you can see my DomCon Award, proudly displayed.
Two new items are the D/s First Season and the presale for “Mistletoe Bound”
There was a bit of a kerfuffle around this time that left me silently seething… and shaking. I turned to sep and asked whether he wanted to help, and he instantly accepted.
I walked him to my vendor-neighbor, SnM Leatherworks, whom I had met earlier. They had finished setting up and left but the object of my desire was prominently hanging front and center: a six-pound leather flogger.
I twirled it in front of sep, and his eyes flashed. I barely got out the words “bend over” before he was in place. I wound up and struck him on each cheek. The first one shifted him from his place. The second one, he knew what he was in for and was able to brace better.
Do not underestimate the power of a good flogging for a domme. It’s called a power exchange for a reason. In those two smacks, I transferred my entire rage unto sep, who gladly accepted it. After that, I was able to finish my tasks. Thank you, sep, and thank you Mary and Sean–the creators of that beautiful flogger.
Classes
Welcome to DomCon – Mistress Cyan and Mistress Precious
It was my first time attending, since I arrived early this time. All four of us went. I expected to hear an overview of the convention; basically, be talked at. Instead, we went around the room and introduced ourselves. It was a cool way to interact with new people and veterans.
Servicepet went first in our row, and he introduced himself as a booth boy for B.J. Frazier before talking about himself and how many DomCons he attended. Then Thomas and sep said the same thing. People were surprised that I had three booth boys! It was very ego-inflating, I gotta admit. 🙂
Thanks to Ballerina Goddess, there are speech-to-text screens in the classrooms for those who need assistance. While they are wonderful, they’re not always entirely reliable. Mistress Precious explained her role on the Board of DomCon, she told everyone that if they have a problem, they should go to her. No one can do anything to help unless they know about it. Then, she provided her email address as Mistress Precious… howEVer, this is was the translation on the large screen:

This is yet another example of how AI fails… in support of Sally Bend’s article, above. Failure or not, it was still hilarious!
I spoke with Mistress Cyan, Pudding and Mistress Precious after the class. Sneak preview–I will be teaching an industry-only class at DomCon L.A. in June!
Publishing Spicy Kink Stories: How to bring your fantasies to the page with Cleo Mercer – by Thomas Antonson
Mercer has worked as an independent publisher since 2006 and had a lot of insights to share. This class could easily have gone well beyond the 60-minutes allotted. There were tons of questions from the dozen or so attendees.
I’ve been writing since the early ’90s but I had no idea how many different genres of kinky stories there are for sale these days. Mercer described them all, but the emphasis seemed to be on romance — “Alternative Romance”.
One of the most useful things Mercer talked about was the process of writing a story. Her technique for choosing a topic or type of story. It involves creating lists based on four things: experience, knowledge, passions, and interests. It’s brainstorming that only requires a blank page, a pen, and your brain. The bottom line is write what you know.
Mercer talked about “pantsers” vs “plotters” in terms of how writers create stories. Pantsers use a stream of consciousness where they start writing and see where it goes. This often leads to dead ends and writer’s block. Plotters, like Mercer, start with a synopsis and a bare bones outline and go from there. I am a pantser but plotters end up with the better product.
The most important part of Mercer’s class dealt with getting published. She gave the ins and outs to working with Amazon, including making sure that your keywords/tags didn’t violate standards, the value of using Kindle Unlimited to get your work out there and noticed, and how to build an email list by giving books away. Amazon doesn’t provide a list of prohibited words which makes it difficult sometimes to know where the landmines are. The best policy is to avoid using sex specific terms and to be careful with consent related terms.
One thing I particularly found of interest was the idea of having two different book covers. ‘Zon doesn’t like anything even remotely suggestive in book covers since they don’t have any age restrictions on their search algorithms. Mercer showed us two different covers for the same book and pointed out the differences. One was very subtle in terms of being suggestive, if you knew how to look at it. The other wasn’t lewd but it was definitely not subtle. The second one was the cover of the actual book that you were buying. The first one was to pass the Amazon censors.
Mercer rarely uses an editor. That was a surprise. It isn’t something I would have thought of doing. She’s had success with her method and that’s what counts.
Thanks, Thomas for providing that write-up. Cleo stopped by my booth on the last day, and we had a good chat.
Dragonback Tie Your Bottom – Ballerina Goddess by sep
Domina Ballerina Goddess can be found at Rocdommes.com, @BallerinaGoddess on Instagram, @BallerinaGoddess on Fetlife.com and is based in Rochester, NY.
Domina put her hands up fingers spread wide to silence the chatter in the classroom. Gradually, some attendees noticed and joined her in the position of her hands until all fell silent. Domina Ballerina Goddess is deaf. She is one of two deaf professional dominatrices of which she is aware. She feels the fact that she is deaf brings a new perspective to BDSM.
I can easily see how that is true, especially in forms of communication and focus. I think she has mad body language interpretation skills. She is joyful and amazing, and appreciative of small acknowledgements and efforts to communicate clearly with her.
Domina started as a submissive and rope bottom seven years ago and has been in the rope scene for 10 years. I attended this class in Domcon L.A. and came back to hone my abilities on this tie. I consider myself a submissive, but, with rope, a bottom and a service top if that helps anyone understand what perspective I might convey.
Ballerina Goddess started the class by warning any CIS, white males in the class to leave their ego at the door. Expressing their breadth of rope knowledge wouldn’t go well for them. There was a wide variety of rope experience in this class from newbies to quite experienced, and everyone was excited to learn. We were seated in a circle around Domina.
Domina expressed that pictures of her and her sub were okay to post, but to include her name on any posts. She also expressed that including class members without their express permission was NOT okay. No questions were to be asked directly of her
sub, Ares, without going directly through her.
With the ground rules laid, Domina talked about rope play in general. She engaged the class, asking what are reasons for rope play. The class responded with building intimacy, energy exchange, increasing connection between partners, and an expression of control. I thought to myself, no one mentioned the power exchange caused by painful rope ties, or experiencing pain from rope; a couple of my reasons for wanting to engage as a rope bottom.
She expressed it is a risky type of play because people can be injured or die. The rope bottom’s life is in the rope top’s hands. All bodies and disabilities can engage in rope and shouldn’t be discouraged by any assholes (my word). It’s just a matter of adapting the tying to the body type or disability.
Domina then asked, besides rope, what tools are required? Medical scissors was the class’ response, and those of us who had them were required to hold them up. No tie group in the class would be permitted to tie without a pair.
She provided rope and shears to those who didn’t have them. Ballerina Goddess explained that shears were meant to be used for gauze in medical situations and were only good once or twice in rope play. The shears are cheap and easy to replace. She mentioned that hook knives can also have their use, but in some applications are risky for the rope bottom. She also recommends the marlin spike, good for loosening knots and prying them open.
Next, we learned where not to place rope; e.g., hip bones and nerves. The largest nerve in the body is the sciatica, which runs from your lower back, through each side of the pelvis, down the back of the thighs and branches out behind each knee. In order to avoid nerve damage, studying the nervous system is a good idea.
Domina advised that, when tying partners who you don’t know very well, that you should not grope. It’s best to use the back of your hand when you need to touch sensitive areas.
The center of a rope folded into two equal halves is called the bight. When tying, you generally start with a rope folded in two. Domina stood on one leg and pulled her other leg to waist level, touching her ankle to the back of her thigh to demonstrate a Futomomo tie position. She is quite flexible. Futomomo is also known as Futo, if you want to search for images of this type of tie.
When negotiating with your partner, make sure you know how they want to feel, e.g., tight, painful, sexy. Make sure to ask about any medical conditions, whether they’re taking prescription drugs, and make sure they’re not under the influence of anything. Rope tying is risky business and both parties must be able to communicate skills at their best.
Understand your partner as a bottom. When in sub space, do they speak? What is his experience? Ares shared that he loves the comfort of being tied up, and how special it is to be tied by Domina Ballerina Goddess. He shared that he’s both quiet and talkative. After a really good scene, he often reacts by shaking and quivering.
Domina had Ares strip to boxer briefs and stand on a chair so we could see. The class was less full than L.A., and I was able to see a lot better. The bottom always has the power in a rope scene because he allows it to happen and can safeword.
The dragonback tie is a single column tie from the hip down to the knee and then back up, creating the scales of the dragon as you make your way back up to the hip. The top of the single column is above the pelvic bone protrusion. It’s best to tie on the meaty portions of the body. For detailed instructions, you can find a clip online.
As people are about to practice, Domina reminds us not to let the bottom bend at the waist while tying as it will drastically affect the tightness. I opted to self-tie which meant I have to bend at the waist and monitor rope tension as I go.
Domina Ballerina Goddess is an excellent instructor and managed to check the ties and make corrections for everyone. With the warning that I wasn’t sure what I was doing, I helped a few people who asked me for help, and then went back to show them the correction I received on my tie. It was nice to get a smile and fist bump from Domina.
Great class again! And the second time was the charm. Did I mention Domina Ballerina Goddess loves purple!
sep ~ Thanks for a more in-depth view into this great class. Glad you were able to do it this time!
Tale of a DomCon Virgin by Thomas Antonson
My first experience with BDSM was finding a copy of “Philosophy in the Bedroom” (Marquis de Sade) in the magazine bin next to my aunt’s rocking chair when I was about 14. It was a life-altering event, and I’ve been kinky ever since. Most of that has been vicarious through books and videos, or more directly via chat rooms and telephones, and a few times IRL with a live sub.
So, it wasn’t a huge reach for me to become B.J. Frazier’s editor. She’s been going to DomCons for a few years now, both in New Orleans and L.A. I was curious about what a kink convention might be like, but it wasn’t until I began editing Book One of “This is Knot DomCon,” that I asked myself, “why was I not (or knot) there?” The practical reason is that my kinky side isn’t “out”.
Still, I wanted to go to meet other kinky people, and to hang out in an environment where it was safe to be myself.
I also wanted to help B.J. Frazier sell books, and since Claire (B.J.’s usual book seller and bestie) couldn’t go, I figured out a way to make it to New Orleans.
Whatever expectations I had were blown away by the reality of DomCon. B.J. Frazier did her best to prepare me but it’s one thing to read descriptions and hear stories and quite another to see kink up close and personal.
When Mistress Precious asked for a show of hands of first timers, a lot of hands, including mine, went up. “We love virgins,” she said with what I can only describe as a wicked grin and a ten kilowatt gleam in her eye. I sat near the front of the room and felt like she was looking right at me when she said that (though she clearly wasn’t singling me out by any means). I’m not too proud to admit that a little buzz went up my spine. That’s when the reality of it all started to hit me. I nervously laughed but started to feel at home.
The next three days went by all too quickly and were full of fun, learning, and some great conversations with other vendors and attendees. I was proud to see the respect that B.J. gets from the major players at DomCon. She’s earned it, being one of the few authors who writes about kink from a femdom perspective.
I had a terrific time in NOLA both in and out of the hotel. NOLA is a fascinating city (with a surprisingly small airport). Its historic importance, its diverse culture, its architecture, its dedication to the arts, and its unique cuisine make it a great place to visit. As for the Con itself, I managed to expand my comfort zone a bit (that’s a big deal for me, as B.J. would agree) and even enjoyed a spanking from Queen Hilarity.
Fanboy confession time. The highlight of DomCon was getting to meet (and shake hands with!!!) Goddess Severa. I’m not a sub. Not even a switch. But … I won’t deny that I’d be tempted in her case. I’ll just leave it at that before I write something I’d have to apologize for later.
I felt welcomed by everyone in the kink community with whom I interacted. I can truthfully say that I’ve never had an experience even remotely like this. And, now that I’ve lost my DomCon virginity, I’m looking forward to being in L.A. in early June and greeting the friends I made in NOLA as well as making new ones.
Thomas ~ Thanks. You were a great addition to the B.J. Frazier booth and to our general chuckle-fest outside of the hotel!
The Message
I had seen Domina Ballerina Goddess several times at DomCon but hadn’t known how to approach her. Plus, time always goes by so quickly. This time, though, I made it a priority to speak with her and ask for an interview.
But how?
Luckily, rubbug speaks ASL. I asked him to help me create a message so I could speak in Domina’s language. He asked me what I wanted to say, and we worked together to get the right signs. Then I had to practice.
Friday afternoon, I saw Domina marching toward the exit that was right next to my booth. I wouldn’t’ve been able to exit my booth to get her attention, so I made the sign for “excuse me”, and she stopped; curious. I went around the obstacles to approach her, noting her sub Ares was a few paces behind.
I began my message: I heard good things about you [she smiled] from my booth boy, and I was wondering if I could interview you. But that is all the sign that I know [she laughed]. But I know my name is B.J. Frazier.
She repeated my name to make sure she understood my letters, then she wanted to know how I learned to sign. I explained the situation, and she said she was grateful that I made the effort. I told her rubbug kept telling me, yeahhh, you got it, but I made him be strict because I didn’t want to stutter as I spoke to her.
She laughed again and told me that I did, actually, stutter a few times; but she was quick to also tell me that it was okay, and she understood everything I said. There were a few translations that she offered to correct, and I agreed.
We walked to my booth, and I told her I was a writer and that I do reviews of DomCon on my website. She liked that my booth was purple, and ordered Ares to turn around so I could read his purple shirt, which said: Property of Ballerina Goddess.
She agreed to be interviewed, and we set up a time after the parade. I was super excited, disappointed I’d stuttered but happy that she was grateful. I texted rubbug right after but couldn’t fully convey everything; just said I did it, and she loved it.
You know where this is going… I’m hanging that cliff right here. That was the setup. You’ll get the interview in another post.
