Pupdate!
Warning… entering cuteness territory!
Everything was going along all adorbs and snuggly, as you can see in the early pix. Koki got his first bath in the kitchen sink. He barely fit in it then, and I doubt it can be used again. At first, he was skeptical. But when the all-over rubbies took place, he relaxed. Also helped that there were driblets of water on the counter which he lapped in luxury. Couldn’t get a pic of the during, but I got one after.
His new favorite toy is a large teddy bear that has the same coloring, and is nearly the same size. You can see how much he loves it!
The weekend before DomCon was bleak, because Ledger gave a warning bite to Koki which was at a really weird angle and landed in the pup’s mouth. We spent Sunday morning at an emergency facility an hour away, where they took amazingly good care of him, and declared Koki “very brave”. He needed sutures and three baby teeth removed, but nothing affected his adult teeth. You can see a very drugged Koki right after we got home.
I’m supposed to keep him quiet, calm and only chewing stuffies for 2-4 weeks. Drugs come in handy for this task of the now-11.5-week-old boy!
I missed him at DomCon and returned home to a ginormous dog! Somehow, though, his paws still look huge!
“School” update: He’s added “wait” with a treat on his paw, which I think is amazing because it’s so close and tempting! And “speak” and “quiet” <–both of which he does on cue for “class”, but not so much in real life when he thinks he has something important to say *grin*

I totally agree with you in regards of the penis show, Miss. It’s a good thing, that it’s taboo like in your country, it it could lead to insecurities among not so well endowed boys (it sure would have for me hitting puberty). Maybe, they should have a disclaimer, like it’s exaggerated and all penises are beautiful, something like that. [It would be an interesting study to talk to kids who grow up on the show and have them reflect as adults]

DomCon NOLA 2025 Review
I always meet at least one really cool person at kink conventions, and last weekend was no exception!
Bad news is there was hardly any foot traffic, and sep did not accompany us. And now with the negatives outta the way, let’s get to all the positives!
With me this time were Claire, Thomas Antonson and Chancellor Pratt (you know him as servicepet). Thomas assumed driving responsibilities, which included many U-turns. That was our joke, because the roads and GPS were kinda difficult to follow. After Chancellor Pratt had Thomas spinning, I took over navigation duties in the shotgun position. 🙂
The first night we dined at District Grill–I’m pretty sure it had “grill” in its name, but looking at the pictures I don’t see it. It was yummy and a great place to catch up with everyone. Above the windows and the street sign says “District”.
We also went to Cafe du Monde again and ordered at a table. They don’t serve single beignets, so when we said we’d each like one, the waiter brought an order apiece, which was THREE beignets, all topped with a mountain of powdered sugar.
Thomas and I mistakenly wore black pants, and I’m sure took most of that mountain home with us. Regardless, it’s sinfully delicious, and a must-have if you’re ever in NOLA.
We also set the trend to dine at the Clover Grill. Empty when we first walked in, it was packed within minutes of us ordering. We got a kick out of the comments in the menu, which is why there’s a picture of it. You have to read the italics at the bottom of each selection.
There’s also a REALLY funny picture with Claire that Chancellor Pratt took from the outside looking in. She made a crazed look, and right under her, nicely centered, is the window sign “Orders to Go”. I can’t share that with you, so you’ll have to chuckle at whatever image your brain gives you 😀
One night we ordered pizza and took it back to our place. I made certain that Chancellor Pratt found a gluten-free pizza place, which he did. He then texted me his order. When I went to place it, though, he only specified “thin crust” and not “gluten-free” crust. I had to let him know that there wasn’t an option for what kind of crust after selecting gluten-free.
It wasn’t until the next day that we were talking, and he asked me why I thought he wanted gluten-free? I said, because… OMGGGG, you’re vegan not gluten-free! He said, did you think it was the same thing? I said, I know the difference, but, for that brain fart, I linked the two. Talk about communication without really communicating! He thought *I* wanted gluten-free pizza. *giggling*
The rest of the weekend we grabbed takeout and were pretty happy with the food overall–you can’t go wrong in NOLA.
Taking over cooking and lunch prep duties were Thomas and Claire, who made sure we had breakfast and lunch every day.
Across from our booth was Lady Layme with Mansao Luxe. I was going to interview her, but she did not attend on Sunday. Our paths have to cross again, because she is so cool–hopefully we will see her in Book Club. She is a kinky psychic and performs spiritual bodywork.
I also [finally] met a long-time reader who lives in NOLA. Way back when “14-Day Lockdown with Goddess Serena” first came out, I received a message from him in Goodreads. He wanted to know why I chose NOLA as the backdrop for the book. I knew there had to be another reason for his asking, and, it turns out, he passes the intersection of “Serena’s house” every day! He has threatened to attend DomCon in the past, and finally made it Friday. It was so great to meet him in person and give him a hug! He got “This is Knot DomCon” the trilogy… and he’d better leave reviews for all three books! 😀
I always take pictures of the booth with the intent to post in smedia, but I never do. Sep usually remembers and posts… but here’s the booth. You will see a second layer to the books this year, because I printed three new ones–total of 12–with an emphasis on gifting for Kinkmas! Have to say that the kink-themed xmas books were a big hit! [I wrapped those “presents” myself!]
Hmm, I just noticed that the purple I used makes the real purple look washed out. No time to change it now, so just zoom in on the key parts. You’ll see I also printed covers for the latest shorts: “The Cucksitter Training” and “The Ethical Werewolf Society”.
I met several sex therapists who love Christmas and reading, so hopefully they will also join us in Book Club! One of them has several patients with disabilities, and she was highly interested in “Mistletoe Bound”.
I also met the charming Ms. Elizabeth from The New Martha’s Corset Shop, who will also join us in Book Club. She was a vendor, and she told me about the Smut Lovers Conference in Florida. If anyone has inside info about this one, please let me know. Elizabeth will be attending next September for the first time, and I’m on the fence.
Next to the booth was The Ishtar Collective, which is an organization to protect sex workers. Everyone who manned that booth was super cool. Two of them participated in the pageant, center stage in the vending area. We cheered loudly for them. There were five contestants who were all fabulous!
On a whim in the moment, I ran up to Master Gear (the MC for the event) and asked if I could gift all of the contestants with a signed book. He and the judges happily accepted, and seamlessly fit it into the award presentation. I gave them all copies of “Caught in Chastity”, which you can see in the pic.
The two were reading to each other after, and I had to grab a pic. 😀
By the way, Queen Hilarity won that pageant with a booty-shaking, lip-syncing scene you had to see to appreciate. 🙂
There are so many people (not just one) I hope to stay in contact with… and several repeat readers! I forgot to get permission to use their names. But I know Fantasia won’t have a problem, because I talked about her in the LA review. She was back and as loud and obnoxious as ever in the best possible way 😀 She even brought her mom, who quickly joined forces with me to complain about Fantasia. You know I love ya, Fantasia! But don’t forget to download your books!

I reconnected with Sean and Mary at S&M Leatherworks. They’re just good peeps, and I hope they will be at DomCon LA! And I saw Danny from Leather by Danny. The Kink Shop was next to me the other way, but Trent wasn’t there; his dad was. And April from Whipping Stripes was there, and I got to meet two great guys from her entourage.
The ever-gregarious Mistress Mia is always a pleasure to experience. Her vivacity is contagious, and she always remembers ALL of my booth peeps, and greets them individually with huge hugs. I love her! 💜
While we were waiting for our car to be brought around, Claire noticed the rather pointed detractors outside the next-door store window. She said, “Stores don’t want people to sit on the window ledges… which works for many events except DomCon!” *giggling* Not sure if you can tell from the pic, but the black line right next to the window looks like a row of butt plugs! 😀
I taught my class “A Story Worth Telling” as an Industry Only class on Thursday afternoon. Huge shoutout to Jabber for assisting with putting the plug in the right hole so my presentation (that toymax made for me–vielen dank!) was visible to all!
It was a small class in a large room, but people were actively writing when told to, though sharing was more reserved. There were a few people interested in my Writing Consultancy Package, and I look forward to working with them soon!
After the scandal of Chancellor Pratt and the did he/didn’t he sound effect issue from DomCon LA, I have to say that the slapping sounds he created during the dramatic readings I did with Thomas were stupendously loud and amazingly on cue! He wants to say the class wouldn’t’ve been as successful without them… :p
Thomas went to a couple of classes, and I’m hoping he will share write-ups for a DomCon NOLA addendum next time. I also hope the others will share their impressions later–like Chancellor Pratt walked in the Second Line Parade again. But I know I’m still in recovery mode, after a delayed flight on the way home Sunday night; Claire and I didn’t arrive to my house until 6a Monday morning!
