New Laptop

I am transitioning from my old piece of shit laptop to a better one–one with an actual battery!  That’s a *shudder* to my tech woes of 2022.  If you missed it and love yourself a good rant, here’s a link to the start of that disaster.

I created a document for laptop transfers, which saved a bunch of time.  Toymax even dubbed me “Miss Nerd”, which was elevated to “Miss Geek”.  While I kinda like the implied IT status, I’d much rather have a coupla IT geeks who want to do all my computer work!!  😀

Additionally, I hate subscriptions and have therefore saved all of my old software, CDs, downloads, etc.  Why would I buy a subscription when I have a working program?

I was able to install and use all but one program:  Adobe Acrobat Professional XI.  This one was ornery last time, too, but toymax and I discovered work-arounds and got it to work.  Unfortunately, while the program is *installed*, it will not run.  Opening Adobe pops up the home screen; however, the cursor spins for a few seconds before shutting down the program.

If any of you are geeks who know how to fix this, DM me NOW!!

The only hope I currently have is to uninstall, run a registry cleaner, reboot, then turn the laptop to airplane mode before attempting to install Adobe again.  I will lose my Nerd and Geek titles by admitting to NOT doing this the first few times.

Many thanks to toymax, as always, for coming up with unique solutions that mostly work! *hugs*

Online Book Club

January’s Online Book Club discussion was about “A Domme for Christmas”.  There were lots of people, some excellent questions, and some kinky divergence.

A huge shoutout to Mike Bowerbank, a fellow author, whose books I adore and are featured on my Kinky Links/Books page.  A big wave to Jessie Spectre, a first-time erotica author, whose books I adore–and the co-author of the “Eli” series!  And a final spotlight on Claire–yes, THE Claire was not only in attendance but it was her birthday!

One of the first questions tackled was how much is Tessa O’Neil like me?  Well, there’s usually a bit of me in every book I write.  Tessa happens to have many similarities… however, I don’t have a side sex toy business nor do I bake inappropriate pastries.  But. I do love me some brats!

Other fun fact similarities:  I DO have an “It’s a Wonderful Life” miniature light house village, a frog who croaks Christmas music, and a snoring Santa.

One question that I forgot to ask the group was:  What’d you think about no one being able to tell that Memphis was upset, except for Tessa?  So I’ll officially ask it here and expect answers from anyone, whether you were at the Book Club or not (and if you weren’t–DM me to sign up for the next one!).

I enjoyed the discussion about consent, naïveté, expectations of changing one’s partner at the beginning of a relationship, magic, and real-life kink bakeries!

During the meeting, sizeerrorprojection linked us to a NYPost article featuring New York City’s sexiest bakery.

After Book Club, Mike Bowerbank sent me this picture of what you can get at his nearby bakery.

Tell me if you have a kinky bakery by you.  I’m thinking we need to reach out and partner the sale of B.J. Frazier books with some delicious edibles.  *grin*

In preparation for Book Club, I came across some typos.  I hate to be reminded that I am *not* infallible.  These have been corrected.  If you purchased from my site, you are now able to redownload the new and improved “A Domme for Christmas” for free.

The next Online Book Club will be Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 4:30 p.m., Eastern.  Vote now to choose the next book!

Here’s what you had to say after the last blog post.

sizeerrorprojection ~ I see tension between the leader (brunette) and the mine owner (blonde) and a very excited teen truly enjoying herself (redhead). The purple pendants indicating rank are lovely. Would sugilite be purple perchance? 😛  [You are very clever, sep! Sugilite in indeed purple, and you are correct with your guesses!]

rubbug ~ The bloopers and outtakes idea sounds great, but the interview sounds even better. It’d be cool to learn about your journey and growth with your work.  [Thank you, this makes me smile, rb]

Also, is it weird that I’m proud of that cover? Seeing it again after some space made me realize it didn’t come out too bad. I’m glad I could help you with it.  [It’d be weird if you weren’t proud, rb! The cover is awesome, and I’m excited to start that soap opera journey!]

Kleinschwanzcucky ~ Hello, Miss Frazier, I’ve read your blog, and I wanted to thank you for making us subs aware of the dangers concerning the bots. And you’re totally right, of course: Some of us are not thinking with their brain all of the time. :p  [Awww, you are most welcome, KC! I’ve talked with too many intelligent people who have fallen victim to bots NOT to warn]

toymax ~ What a great idea to interview each other. I hope this will be done by a voice recording?  [It will be.  Thomas will interview me when we finish recording the “Mistress Managed” series (delayed from January to March; see blog post detail), and I will interview him.  We’ll probably offer it as a special website-only audiobook and offer savings to newsletter subscribers–so if you’re not a subscriber, sign up today!]

You and rubbug created an awesome cover, that leaves me wanting more.  [Yay! I’m excited to start writing it… I have tons of ideas, and I think it will write fairly quickly]

IamHerProperty ~ A great blog post! And let me know if you ever have too much free time, I can send you things to read and inspire you :p  [haha, I unfortunately used it up earlier this month, but I’ll keep you in mind, IHP]

Nerts2u ~ In answer to your blog question, I’m guessing the Raven-haired one is the ruler, the blonde is the mine owner and redhead is the jewelry-peddling teenager. The crystals are either key to their wealth or the way they control men. Overall, a story that hits my weak spot, and I will certainly be reading.  [You, too, are correct, N2u… in more ways than you know *wicked grin*]

I think the interview and getting to know the author of “Mistress Managed,” as well as any bloopers or outtakes sounds like fantastic bonus as well.  [I hope the audio bloopers reflect how much fun we had recording it]

Multiperv ~ I’m sorry to read Thomas has COVID, and I hope he recovers quickly and fully. I’m guessing that is also an expensive delay for you as it either means you have to make an extra trip or you have to wait until your next planned trip, delaying the release of MM 3 perhaps significantly.  [You didn’t read carefully, MP, because it was Thomas’ wife who had COVID; Thomas never got it.  And yes, she’s doing well, thanks.  Also, yes, an additional and unfortunate expense *sigh*  While MM3 will be delayed, we’re hoping to have MM1 available in February]

I’m (still or maybe even more) looking forward to the Dominion series. I’m a little surprised Pebbles is just aspiring to be part of the Dominion as I thought it would be a female birthright for a woman in that land and I’m intrigued to learn further details. My guess is that Aurora is the one with the dark hair, Pebbles is the redhead in the upper right, and Cozima is the blonde though I may have those last two flipped.  [No, you were right the first time! There are layers to the Dominion, my friend, and not all women are a part of it]

OMG, the “hi” DM. I get the occasional ‘hey’, mostly on reddit, some on IG or Twitter, and they drive me crazy. Not from bots, just from guys who think that is a good way to open a conversation. At least ‘sup?” has some style but is maybe better than ‘Can I ask you a question?’ which is already a question but at least it’s polite and somewhat respectful. But how many people say “No, you can’t ask me a question.” so again it’s a bit of a waste of time rather than just asking it. /end_of_multi_rant  [‘nuff said]

I also recently got a dm, in IG I think, where they asked me where I lived and then, miraculously, they were or are in the same city! I wonder what happens when the person says “great, we should get together for coffee!” I’m guessing they then need a ‘deposit’. That is a good lesson/reminder about using reverse image search, though. I sometimes forget but I don’t get a lot of unsolicited images, for better or worse.  [You got that right, MP!]

Why would a Mistress never say “On your knees, boy”? I’m guessing it’s some German thing? I mean, I prefer the term ‘slave’ myself but I know many people have an issue with that term.  [Tossing this over to toymax]

Tell me what you think of this post, and you’ll see your comment in the next one!

Germany

As promised, I have been “slaving” away at the requested recording by sep.  He asked to hear what “On your knees, slave” sounds like in German, or “Auf die Knie, sklave.”

Here you go, as approved by toymax:

If you want this to be an ongoing learning tool for me and an exciting auditory feature for you… give me a suggestion, and pick something from my Wish List

To my German readers… tell me what you think!
